Coloring is fun for adults too
So is painting! If you feel like, “I can’t draw worth a darn, and it’s only going to stress me out more,” then consider an adult coloring book or grab some on Pinterest. There’s also the option of taking classes online. There are tons of platforms with online art lessons or even YouTube.
In 2017, I purchased the Made with Love ultimate bundle and was HOOKED with the Craftsy class I received through it. I hadn’t heard of it before then. We chose an illustration class and ended up using it for our homeschool art lessons. It was really relaxing and fun to kick back and learn the basics of illustration for picture books.

Opening up new ideas up new ideas
Now, I have a really great time with doodling. My husband, who is the ultimate storyteller, suggested writing children’s stories together to illustrate. Now I’m actually considering that a possibility!
Another idea, if the idea of getting the women in your neighborhood together doesn’t freak you out, you may also want to do your own painting party. There’s really no need to pay someone to come in and do it.
My sister, mom and I do this whenever we get together. Grab a Micheal’s 40% off coupon and each of you grabs something to share- a pack of brushes, paint tubes, or canvases. Browse Pinterest together and decide with their help what each of you will paint -that’s half the fun! And it doesn’t have to be the same picture!!!
What have you done recently that’s creative and fun?
