Find beauty in the every day
Being creative and allowing myself to find beauty in the simple things around me is a sure-fire method of mental self-care for me. It allows me to remember the little things, to practice looking for beauty even when it’s hard, and to express myself when I’m feeling like I’ve been losing who I am. I hear that’s a common frustration for us stay at home and special needs mamas.

Find beauty photography challenge
While the boys and I were on our own for a season I picked painting back up after years of neglecting it and the feeling was exhilarating. The next day, K decided he’d add to that painting with some sharpie. Needless to say, I put the paints back up for a season. I found though, that photography was a great stand-in. For a while, I was a photo taking and editing junkie!
So now I put together a little list of 30 prompts to take photos this month (or any time)! Challenge your mind to think about the words for the day and find beauty around you that somehow comes from that word. It’s kind of a fun mental exercise as well as creative! If you decide to do it, look me up on IG and let me know so I can follow along!
