Let’s get social!

Have you been trying to think of a fun way for your child (or students) to practice the social skills they’ve learned?  Many people worry about academics but don’t let the summer slide happen to their social gains either…

But aren’t they already free to be social all day during the summer?

Personally, I say no.  Some kids are in daycare and will be around peers.  For children staying home or homeschoolers, however, electronics and hot weather may inspire easy-wilters to want to hunker down indoors.  My newest resource makes it easy to invite peers over and get your kid practicing in a fun environment!

We’ve done ice cream socials before at our home, and they are a fun and low-pressure way to help your child have a positive experience with peers.  It’s hard to be angry or fighting when there’s ice cream around, especially in these cute bowls!  You will get to help them practice waiting for their turn while you serve guests first, and there should be plenty to talk about ice cream related!
